Brighton Etsy Sellers take over the Brighton Open Market for a special day of Spring fun.
The Brighton Etsy Sellers Team is made up of more than 600 local designer makers who all sell their work via Etsy.com, a global online handmade marketplace. This May over 40 team members will be bringing items from their online shops to the Open Market for a special day of Spring fun.
There will be a wide variety of handmade and vintage items available at the market; from prints, greetings cards and home furnishings, to jewellery, clothes, accessories and one-off unique finds. The market will be the perfect opportunity to grab a unique gift for a friend (or yourself!), and to also meet the makers behind the gifts you buy.
Since The Open Market’s major redevelopment in 2014, when it hosted one of the first Brighton Etsy Markets, it has become one of the city’s main shopping destinations, hosting both permanent and visiting traders. The vibrant atmosphere of the market lends itself perfectly to the Brighton Etsy Team. Kat Ayres, the Team’s captain says “The opportunity to fill the brilliant space of the Open Market with stalls from the Brighton Etsy Seller’s Team is fantastic. We can’t wait to show off all of our lovely handmade and vintage items again, while giving the public the chance to buy lovely things for themselves!”
The day will have a fun and vibrant feel, with colourful market stalls filling the market. With free entry for all it’s a brilliant trip out for the whole family. ________________________________________________________________________________
Notes to editors.

Their mission is to re-imagine commerce in ways that build a more fulfilling and lasting world. The site has more than 40 million members and in 2021 took a total of $13.5B in merchandise sales.
The Brighton Etsy Team was formed in 2010 to bring together local shop owners. It now has over 600 members from Brighton, Hove and the local areas who regularly meet up socially to share tips and advice.
The team is a not for profit group, with all team leaders and captain volunteering their time and knowledge for free!
Brighton Open Market is owned and run by the Brighton Open Market Community Interest Company (CIC) for local benefit. The CIC was set up to carry out activities which benefit the community of the London Road. It’s main activity is to manage the Open Market site. This provides market stalls for local independent traders as well as exhibition space for arts and crafts, street performance and entertainment. Brighton Open Market has two main entrances: one is located on Marshalls Row, just off London Road; the other is on Ditchling Road, just across from The Level.
