Forró By The Sea is a vibrant, welcoming dance community based in Brighton, dedicated to sharing the joy, connection and culture of Brazilian forró. Rooted in the rich musical traditions of Northeast Brazil, forró is a partner dance known for its rhythmic flow, playful energy and strong sense of community. That spirit is at the heart of everything they do.
They offer a range of ways to get involved, including structured monthly courses designed to help dancers build confidence and progress, as well as relaxed weekly drop-in classes that are perfect for trying something new or refining your skills. All classes are open to complete beginners through to experienced dancers, and no partner is ever needed making it easy for anyone to join, learn and feel part of the community from day one.
Beyond classes, Forró By The Sea hosts regular social events, parties and festivals, creating opportunities to dance, connect and immerse yourself in live music and authentic Brazilian atmosphere. Their events bring together people from diverse backgrounds, united by a shared love of movement, music and human connection.
Founded by Jules Francis and Adenilson Papini, the community is built on values of inclusivity, warmth and accessibility.
