Battle of the Beach Cleans

September 25 @ 10:00 Free

Battle of the Beach Cleans – does what it says on the tin!

We need two teams to help us clean the beach on Saturday 25th September. The race to collect the most litter starts at 10AM and we’ll announce the winning team later in the day.

But wait! The beach clean activities don’t stop there! We’re also teaming up with some big names in the industry to offer some insightful talks on the day.

Watch this space for the annoucement of our special guests!

To quote Jack Black in School of Rock…

“In the words of AC/DC, we roll tonight to the guitar bite, and for those about to rock I salute you! – Let’s ROCK!”

Itinerary for the day:

10AM – Brief and Safety Induction

10.30AM – 1.30PM – Beach clean from Brighton West Pier to Brighton Palace Pier

1.30PM – 2.00PM – Break

2.00PM – 2.30PM – Weighing the litter

2.30PM – 4.00PM – Speakers, Announcing the Winners and Goodie bag distribution

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

A small amount of picking tools will be supplied for your use, but we highly suggest you bring your own picking tool should you wish to use one

What to wear: If you’re picking up litter with your hands it’s worth bringing and wearing a strong pair of gloves – like gardening gloves – just to make sure you’re protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too – please dress for the weather, we may be on a beach but it’s no holiday!

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.

Please Note: by signing up to this ‘Battle of the Beach Cleans’ event you will also be signing up to Tiny Box Company’s mailing list. You can unsubscribe from this mailing list at any time.
