Circus Abyssinia returns with a show for all ages. Featuring dazzling feats of speed and flight, and rocking with the exuberant joy of its cast, Tulu celebrates the true tale of an icon. This show tells the story of a distance runner and Ethiopian legend, Derartu Tulu, charting her rise from the humblest beginnings to become the first African woman to win Olympic gold.

The show features two Ethiopian brothers Bibi and Bichu Tesfamariam, who’s story began over two decades ago, with a shared childhood dream of joining the circus. Like so many performers, they lived for the lure and lights of the stage for as long as we can remember; but it was when they saw circus on TV that their dream took definite shape.  Already close as brothers, they grew up driven by a joint fascination with the feats of circus magic, acrobatic mastery and glamorous illusions achieved by the superhuman figures in the ring, inspired by a hope that one day they could join them.
