Learn the basics of crochet from scratch at this fun and friendly in-person course at Cathy’s studio

Crochet Foundation Course for Beginners

Join me for a 4-week crochet series designed to ignite your crafting passion and equip you with the skills to tackle projects with confidence. Classes will take place in my cosy and sunny studio space atthe bottom of George Street in Hove. With a small class size of six maximum, you will receive plenty of teacher help and attention.

The course covers everything you need to get started on your crochet journey: yarn choices and hook suitability, foundation chains, double and treble stitches, working in rows and in the round, changing colours, and an introduction to reading patterns and charts.

Week One: Get started with foundation chains, double and treble stitches, stripes, colour changes, and securing your work.

Week Two: Explore Granny Squares and motifs, work in the round, and get introduced to reading charts and instructions.

Week Three: Master the shell stitch, work in clusters, plan colours, and learn to read charts and written patterns, including 2-row patterns.

Week Four: No new stitch today! Practice and recap all the techniques covered, ask questions, and troubleshoot any problems that came up along the way. Bring your first project ideas for advice on getting started. We’ll also have a chat about finishing and joining techniques in this session.

Classes take place on 12th, 19th, 26th Jan & 2nd Feb on Monday evenings. 6:30pm – 8:30pm

Early Bird Tickets are available until 7 days before the event/until they sell out!

Booking early helps independent facilitators like me to organise events in a cost and energy efficient manner, which gives us more time and energy to make the workshops fantastic for you. Where possible, please do book early, it really helps.
