Diva Delights: Jan Allain and Kate Shortt

Singer – songwriter, guitarist Jan Allain, delivers a storming set of self penned songs accompanied by award winning Kate Shortt on sizzling cello. They will dive through jazz, soul, blues, ballads and beyond into whacky comedy, surprises and prizes. This is a rare UK live performance.

JAN ALLAIN

Singer – songwriter, guitarist and harmonica player, with a wide repertoire of songs, eight independent albums and a devoted LGBTQ fanbase in Germany. Jan’s warm vocals, powerful guitar playing and harmonica create a melting pot of emotional and uplifting music.

After four decades of magical mystery tours abroad, Jan has returned to the UK and is now settled in Brighton.

KATE SHORTT

Cellist, Singer – Songwriter and Comedienne.

Ms Short is a versatile and experienced cellist in Fado, Classical, Jazz, Rock, Improvisation and Contemporary. Her credentials in the Pop world include Gary Kemp, Take That, and Simon Le Bon.

Kate plays classical music world wide and is well known on the Jazz and Free Improv scenes. Her own comedy on cello, keyboard, kazoo and RAP is a scream. Kate takes us from Jewish Cats to Orgasmic Bach and back!
