Festive Textile Craft Night

19 December @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

£10

Come along to our lovely workshop tent for a relaxing evening of craft in friendly surroundings. Bring along own project to work on (ideal if you are struggling to carve out time to finish something), or we can get you started on a relaxing and easy make. It is all hand sewing (or a bit of glueing) and suitable for complete beginners.

Our box of makes includes a yarn tassel garland, gathered yo yo mat, felt decorations, easy bunting and lavender bags. If you come along to all three there is something new to make at each session. The evenings are relaxed, so do not worry if you arrive a little late or need to go early and if you are coming on your own you will get a warm welcome. The fee does not include materials so there will be a donation pot to put a contribution in if you use our materials. However the focus is on reusing old clothing and thrifted haberdashery, so the aim is to keep the cost low so the suggestion contribution for a project will be low.

About the Tutors:

Sew Simple are Elizabeth and Amanda, who both love creating and making things from fabric and thread. With a gentle approach to running workshops they enjoy spending time with people while making. They like to make textiles accessible and love to reuse fabric and haberdashery and to work with absolute beginners as well as connecting with those who have also had a lifelong passion for textiles. Liz has a background in patchwork (see her bio on her other workshops) and Amanda studied textiles at Brighton University in the 1990s and since then has worked in a wide range of textile roles.
