Free workshop to help Sussex charities tackle growing funding pressures

2 July @ 11:00 am - 1:45 pm
Free

Charities and not-for-profit organisations across Sussex are being invited to a free workshop aimed at helping them respond to increasing financial pressures and build more resilient funding models.

The Diversifying Income Streams workshop is being hosted by Ansvar Insurance, a specialist insurer for the charity and not-for-profit sector. It will take place on Thursday 2nd July 2026 at the company’s head office in Brighton. Organisations outside of Sussex will be able to join online.

Delivered by Andy King, Director of Fireside Fundraising, the workshop comes at a time when many charities are facing increased competition for grant funding, alongside rising operational costs and growing demand for services.

During the session, attendees will learn how to identify the most suitable fundraising opportunities for their organisation, build stronger relationships with supporters and donors, and prioritise resources effectively to maximise impact.

Jane Perkins, Marketing Manager at Ansvar, commented:

“Charities are facing mounting pressure as demand for their services rises while funding becomes increasingly competitive, and many organisations are concerned about relying too heavily on a small number of income sources.

“This workshop is designed to give organisations practical guidance on how to strengthen their fundraising approach and explore new opportunities for income generation. We hope it will provide valuable support for charities looking to build resilience and plan confidently for the future.”

The in-person event will run from 11am to 1.45pm, with refreshments provided and an opportunity for local charity professionals to network and share experiences. Those attending virtually can join the session between 11.15am to 1pm.

Charities and organisations wishing to take part are asked to email Ansvar.communityhub@ansvar.co.uk, confirming whether they plan to attend in person or virtually. Those joining online will receive a Microsoft Teams invitation.

The event forms part of Ansvar’s ongoing commitment to supporting the charity sector through its Community Hub. The hub provides charities and not-for-profit organisations free access to meeting rooms, training facilities and hot-desking. Further information and booking details are available at https://ansvar.co.uk/giving-back/community-hub/.
