LGBTQIA+ OUT TO SWIM Free Swimming Club Trial

18 April @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Free

At Brighton and Hove OUT TO SWIM LGBTQIA+ Swimming Club we welcome all swimming abilities. We have an inclusive culture, and when we’re not swimming there’s many social activities that you can join and get to know everyone.

So, why not ‘take the plunge’ and join us for a free intro session/trial – don’t worry, it’s not scary, we just have to assess your swimming ability as we want you to be confident in the water regardless of your swimming ability.

This OPEN DAY session will be held on Saturday 18th April 5pm at King Alfred pool and is for club swimmers and those wanting to learn to swim with a club.

Whatever your level we guarantee you’ll improve and have fun along the way!

We have two swimming categories:

New swimmers wanting to join the club?

All new members should be comfortable with front crawl, confident in deep water, and able to swim at least:

  • 4×25 m front crawl- each length consecutively- and
  • a total of 800m (32 lengths) in an hour

New to club swimming? We’ve got you covered with our ‘Learn to Club Swim’ Programme

These sessions are designed to help swimmers improve their speed and stamina, ultimately reaching the level required to join our main club programme.

If you want to try out for our Club Swim Improvement programme

YOU MUST BE ABLE TO:

  • swim 50m (2 lengths) regardless of stroke
  • be comfortable out of your depth (i.e. swimming in the deep end)
  • be able to tread water.

Next Steps:

To ensure we are not over capacity on on the day, please book your place by purchasing a free waiting list place and registering here

We will then send you confirmation and additional information.

We look forward to hearing back from you and welcoming you to your free swimming tryout!
