Stomping Ground Comedy Christmas Special with Janine Harouni!

In collaboration with Municipal Comedy, LIVE at The Grounds brings you Stomping Ground Comedy. Located right in the heart of Hove, we’ll be tickling your funny bone with an incredible lineup every month. We’re mixing it up by bringing both fresh, new local acts and established, national comedians to our bill.

Alongside craft beer on tap from Hand Brewery, we’ll be serving a special menu until 8pm and in the interval.

Doors 7:00pm | Show 8pm

Please note, no entry will be permitted after 8pm. No food and drink from outside the venue may be brought in.

‘A newcomer who’s clearly going places’ – Guardian

Comedian, actor, writer and New York native living in London.Janine Harouni is ‘ready for her Netflix special’ (★★★★★ The Times). Selected as one of The Guardian’s ‘Ten Comedians to Watch in 2021’. Her critically acclaimed debut Edinburgh hour ‘Stand Up with Janine Harouni (Please Remain Seated)’ was nominated for the prestigious Best Newcomer award at the Edinburgh Fringe and sold out its run in the first week of the festival. It transferred to the Soho Theatre in London’s West End for 18 sold out shows and will be travelling Stateside in 2021.

Janine will also star in the new sitcom Buffering which airs this August on ITV2, and has appeared on The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV2), Yesterday, Today and The Day Before (Comedy Central UK), and the upcoming series of Comedians Giving Lectures (Dave).

She’s also one third of the multi-award-winning sketch trio Muriel whom Chortle have hailed as ‘the New Smack the Pony’. Their online videos have racked up over 80 million views and remain BBC Three’s most viewed, shared, and liked sketches to date.

Nicole Harris

Nicole was the first woman to win Jewish Comedian of the Year and went on to be a finalist in the New Act of The Year Showcase in 2019 performing at The Hackney Empire.

In the same year she was selected to host the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe AAA Stand Up Late Show at the Gilded Balloon. Known for her quick wit, ability to think on her feet and quirky comedy style, Nicole is a one off original.

She’s a bit naughty, a bit risque, but not one bit forgettable! Nicole performed her first solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2021 and then in 2022 to rave reviews and regularly hosts comedy shows up and down the country.

Jack Skipper

Jack has gained a big following with his online character based comedy and has now ventured into the world of stand up. Whether he is telling stories of his life as a carpet fitter or delivering observations on family life, his every day man persona is a win with audiences.

Rachel Thorpe

Rachel is tired of living with her parents. She dreams of becoming a doctor and buying a nice hat.
