Stomping Ground Comedy with Jen Brister

In collaboration with Municipal Comedy, LIVE at The Grounds brings you Stomping Ground Comedy. Located right in the heart of Hove, we’ll be tickling your funny bone with an incredible lineup every month. We’re mixing it up by bringing both fresh, new local acts and established, national comedians to our bill.

We will be serving Pizzaface Pizzas before 8PM and in the interval.
Doors 7pm | Show 8pm

Please note, no entry will be permitted after 8PM. No food and drink from outside the venue may be brought in.

Headliner: Jen Brister

Jen Brister is a critically acclaimed stand up comedian and writer who has been seen on BBC’s Live at the Apollo, Frankie Boyle’s New World Order and on Hypothetical and Sara Pascoe’s comedy Lectures on Dave.

She is a regular performer on the UK and international comedy circuits and has written and performed on BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz, The Now Show and presented for BBC 6 Music. Jen’s sell out show ‘Meaningless’ can be streamed on Amazon Prime, NextUp or Soho Comedy.

Alex Farrow

Alex is the host of award-winning Jericho Comedy in Oxford, as recommended by the Telegraph, the i Paper, Chortle and Sunday Times.

His philosophy themed solo shows are extremely popular and have sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2019 and 2021.

Alex has also featured in the Times as part of the best jokes of the Edinburgh Fringe. As heard on BBC Radio 4 extra’s ‘The Circuit’ and BBC Sounds.

Chelsea Birkby

is a multi-competition finalist, “one to watch” Funny women, “a rising star” Ox in a Box and a real talent, outshining the big guns with her easy charm and sparkling humour. Chelsea has performed in major clubs and rooms across the UK (The Stand, Backyard, Oxford Playhouse, Leicester Square Theatre), at the Edinburgh fringe festival, and has been invited to perform in Paris and New York.

Claire is here to talk about the many things that confuse her, including parenthood, the rich, and sponges.
