WALKING TOUR – Pier Pressure – A Walk Between The Piers

Join actor and tour guide Nick Richmond for a journey through the fascinating history of Brighton beach and the three piers that have stood there over the centuries , as well as the “Daddy Long Legs”

Hear the tales of Martha Gunn and John Smoaker Miles , the King and Queen of the Bathers and Dippers . Learn how Dr Russell turned the old fishing town into a thriving health resort and the rather horrible remedies that he prescribed for equally horrible afflictions like Kings Evil.

Mods and Rockers fought on the beach in the 1960’s and Brighton Pier was used as the setting for Graham Greene’s seminal novel ” Brighton Rock ” . Find out why the beaches and pier were closed during the Second World War and what Hitler’s plan was for the Royal Pavilion.

This tour is not wheelchair accessible and dogs are not allowed on the beach . Tickets are £8 and can be bought on the day using card or cash .
