SUMMARY:Stick It On's 25th Anniversary Celebration with special guest Jazzie B (DJ set)
DESCRIPTION:STICK IT ON CELEBRATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY WITH JAZZIE B\nBrighton’s original “DJ democracy” returns for landmark celebration on Sunday 30th August \nBrighton\, 2001 — Stick It On\, the club night that gave the dancefloor back to the people\, celebrates its 25th anniversary this summer with a landmark event featuring very special guest Jazzie B\, founder of the iconic Soul II Soul collective. \nFounded in Brighton in early 2001 by Rob Drysdale and Karim Bouzidi\, Stick It On was born from a simple but revolutionary idea: get at bunch of non-DJs\, each playing their favourite records for 15 minutes\, with the running order drawn from a hat. No mixing. No professional status required. No egos. \nThe concept struck a nerve at a time when club culture was dominated by superstar DJs and overpriced\, over-hyped nights. Word spread quickly. Mixmag ran a feature (“At Stick It On\, everyone’s a DJ”). DJ Mag celebrated it as one of the UK’s underground nights rocking it against the tide. The Face covered it. Time Out London named it a Critics’ Choice. Fat Boy Slim himself interviewed the founders for The Big Issue\, under the headline: “Let Us Play.” \nThe night expanded from its Brighton home at the Hanbury Arms to London venues including the Medicine Bar in Shoreditch\, the Redstar in Camberwell\, Oxford\, Bristol\, Manchester and Glasgow and beyond — with special events at the Notting Hill Carnival\, the Big Chill festival\, Bestival and bank holiday all-dayers that attracted guest appearances from Norman Jay MBE\, The Cuban Brothers\, Chaz & Dave\, DJ Derek among others. \nNow\, 25 years on\, it’s something worth celebrating about. It therefore give us great pleasure to announce Jazzie B — whose Soul II Soul sound defined a generation\, whose ‘Back to Life (However Do You Want Me)’ remains one of the most important British records ever made\, and who has always championed the idea that music belongs to everyone — will join the celebrations with a special DJ set guest appearance. \nMore artists and acts are planned so watch out for updates over the next few weeks. \nThe 25th Anniversary event takes place on Sunday 30th August 2026 at The King & Queen Pub Brighton. Tiered advance tickets are on sale now\, with on-the-door tickets priced at £30. \nEveryone attending the event is welcome to submit a DJ and enter the draw to be one of the DJs on the night. No experience necessary. Mixing actively discouraged. What Choons would your choose? \nEvent details: Date: Sunday 30th August 2026 Venue: The King & Queen Pub\, Brighton Doors: 12pm – 12am. Tickets: Early bird (sold out) / tiered advance from £20 | £30 on the door Info & tickets: https://buytickets.at/stickitonltd/2224610  \nPress enquiries: rob@stickiton.org.uk / 07931 565 361

SUMMARY:Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi\, The Four Seasons
DESCRIPTION:A unique concert will take place on the 22nd of August at the atmospheric St. George’s Church in Kemptown\, Brighton. \nJoin us for an evening featuring the famous Antonio Vivaldi cycle «The Four Seasons» in the unique interpretation of contemporary composer Max Richter\, performed by the extraordinary Mystery Ensemble. \nMax Richter is the composer of music for dozens of feature films and documentaries. The European Film Academy voted him the best film composer in 2008. He reinterpreted Antonio Vivaldi’s music in the spirit of minimalism and postmodernism. Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi\, The Four Seasons is one of Richter’s most famous works. After its release in 2012\, the recording topped the iTunes Classical Music charts in over 20 countries. \nMax Richter has recorded 12 solo albums and performed at the London Barbican\, the Paris Philharmonic\, the Sydney Opera and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw\, and among his projects are the Sum Opera and the Infra ballet (choreographed by Wayne MacGregor) at Covent Garden. Richter’s music is heard in many performances around the world\, as well as in the films «Shutter Island» by Martin Scorsese\, «Last Love on Earth» by David Mackenzie\, and «Waltz with Bashir»\, for the soundtrack to which he received the award «Best Composer» from the European Film Academy. \nThe Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi is one of the most famous and frequently performed works of classical music. The Italian master wittily and gracefully captured in music the way his contemporaries saw the world and nature. The Vivaldi cycle is both a philosophical reflection on a magnificent illustrated «calendar» and a «sightseeing tour» of Italy. \nDuration: 60 minutes

SUMMARY:Go with the Flow
DESCRIPTION:Immerse your senses with Yoga Flow Motion’s first live event! Join me for a flowing Yoga Class with a live DJ. \nPeople often tell me my yoga classes feel like dancing. Yet I move away from choreography and towards embodied exploration. Through the continuous\, connected movement I have sequenced\, I invite students into a parasympathetic state where the nervous system can soften\, settle\, and regulate. When we move from this place\, something interesting happens. Bodies often begin to synchronise naturally\, breath deepens\, and a sense of connection emerges. From this state\, you will often be able to do more than you thought possible\, and strength and resilience still develop\, but without competition\, expectation\, or pressure. \nWhat you will experience: \nExpect creative sequencing\, embodied movement\, flow state\, a sense of relaxation without forced stillness\, and a space to focus on nothing but the present moment. I will guide you back into your body in the most natural way possible. \nWho is this class for? \nEveryone is welcome! Some experience of yoga is preferable – perfect for those who enjoy flowy vinyasa classes and/or dance. My classes are queer-positive and body-positive. Over 16s only.
