SUMMARY:Vivaldi The Four Seasons with the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague in Hove
DESCRIPTION:The Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague brings Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons to All Saints Church\, Hove on Saturday 17 October 2026 at 7.30pm\, as part of the orchestra’s autumn 2026 tour of the United Kingdom. The concert is performed live by a chamber ensemble of the Prague-based orchestra\, with the young Czech violinist Matteo Hager as soloist. \nAll Saints Church on The Drive is Hove’s cathedral-scale parish church\, a soaring Gothic Revival building by John Loughborough Pearson with a resonant acoustic that has made it one of the best-loved concert venues in Brighton and Hove. It is a few minutes’ walk from Hove station and the seafront\, with buses along Church Road and Cromwell Road. \nThe programme\nAt the heart of the evening are Vivaldi’s four violin concertos – Spring\, Summer\, Autumn and Winter – the most popular set of pieces in the whole Baroque repertoire. Written in Venice around 1720 and published with four sonnets describing birdsong\, summer storms\, harvest celebrations and icy winter winds\, The Four Seasons remains one of the most vivid pieces of storytelling ever composed for strings. Hearing it played live\, with the soloist and ensemble responding to one another in the room\, is a very different experience from any recording. \nThe Four Seasons is framed by four other favourites of the string repertoire. Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik is the most famous serenade ever written\, all charm and sunlight. Bach’s Air on the G String\, from his Third Orchestral Suite\, is one of the calmest and most beautiful melodies in music. Pachelbel’s Canon in D needs no introduction\, and Handel’s Water Music\, written for a royal barge party on the Thames in 1717\, brings the evening to a festive close. \n\nAntonio Vivaldi – The Four Seasons\, Op. 8 Nos. 1–4\nWolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Eine kleine Nachtmusik\, K. 525\nJohann Sebastian Bach – Air on the G String (Orchestral Suite No. 3)\nJohann Pachelbel – Canon in D\nGeorge Frideric Handel – Water Music (suite)\n\nThe performers\nThe Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague (BSOP) is a professional orchestra from the Czech capital\, one of Europe’s great musical cities and home to a string tradition that runs from Dvořák and Smetana to the present day. Alongside its full symphonic concerts\, the orchestra tours internationally with chamber programmes drawn from its principal players\, bringing the warmth of the Czech string sound to churches\, cathedrals and concert halls across Europe. This UK tour visits Reading\, London\, Hove\, Eastbourne\, Newcastle\, Edinburgh\, Inverness and Glasgow. \nSoloist Matteo Hager is a young Czech violinist currently studying in London\, whose performances of The Four Seasons combine virtuoso brilliance in the fast movements with a singing\, expressive tone in the slow ones. \nTickets and practical information\nDate and time: Saturday 17 October 2026\, 7.30pm – 9.00pm (doors open 30 minutes before the concert)\nVenue: All Saints Church\, Hove\, The Drive\, Hove BN3 3QE\nTickets: from £24 (plus booking fee); priced seating tiers available\nRunning time: approximately 90 minutes including interval \nBook tickets online or telephone 07922 228511. SUMMARY:Stick It On's 25th Anniversary Celebration with special guest Jazzie B (DJ set)
DESCRIPTION:STICK IT ON CELEBRATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY WITH JAZZIE B\nBrighton’s original “DJ democracy” returns for landmark celebration on Sunday 30th August \nBrighton\, 2001 — Stick It On\, the club night that gave the dancefloor back to the people\, celebrates its 25th anniversary this summer with a landmark event featuring very special guest Jazzie B\, founder of the iconic Soul II Soul collective. \nFounded in Brighton in early 2001 by Rob Drysdale and Karim Bouzidi\, Stick It On was born from a simple but revolutionary idea: get at bunch of non-DJs\, each playing their favourite records for 15 minutes\, with the running order drawn from a hat. No mixing. No professional status required. No egos. \nThe concept struck a nerve at a time when club culture was dominated by superstar DJs and overpriced\, over-hyped nights. Word spread quickly. Mixmag ran a feature (“At Stick It On\, everyone’s a DJ”). DJ Mag celebrated it as one of the UK’s underground nights rocking it against the tide. The Face covered it. Time Out London named it a Critics’ Choice. Fat Boy Slim himself interviewed the founders for The Big Issue\, under the headline: “Let Us Play.” \nThe night expanded from its Brighton home at the Hanbury Arms to London venues including the Medicine Bar in Shoreditch\, the Redstar in Camberwell\, Oxford\, Bristol\, Manchester and Glasgow and beyond — with special events at the Notting Hill Carnival\, the Big Chill festival\, Bestival and bank holiday all-dayers that attracted guest appearances from Norman Jay MBE\, The Cuban Brothers\, Chaz & Dave\, DJ Derek among others. \nNow\, 25 years on\, it’s something worth celebrating about. It therefore give us great pleasure to announce Jazzie B — whose Soul II Soul sound defined a generation\, whose ‘Back to Life (However Do You Want Me)’ remains one of the most important British records ever made\, and who has always championed the idea that music belongs to everyone — will join the celebrations with a special DJ set guest appearance. \nMore artists and acts are planned so watch out for updates over the next few weeks. \nThe 25th Anniversary event takes place on Sunday 30th August 2026 at The King & Queen Pub Brighton. Tiered advance tickets are on sale now\, with on-the-door tickets priced at £30. \nEveryone attending the event is welcome to submit a DJ and enter the draw to be one of the DJs on the night. No experience necessary. Mixing actively discouraged. What Choons would your choose? \nEvent details: Date: Sunday 30th August 2026 Venue: The King & Queen Pub\, Brighton Doors: 12pm – 12am. Tickets: Early bird (sold out) / tiered advance from £20 | £30 on the door Info & tickets: https://buytickets.at/stickitonltd/2224610  \nPress enquiries: rob@stickiton.org.uk / 07931 565 361

SUMMARY:Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi\, The Four Seasons
DESCRIPTION:A unique concert will take place on the 22nd of August at the atmospheric St. George’s Church in Kemptown\, Brighton. \nJoin us for an evening featuring the famous Antonio Vivaldi cycle «The Four Seasons» in the unique interpretation of contemporary composer Max Richter\, performed by the extraordinary Mystery Ensemble. \nMax Richter is the composer of music for dozens of feature films and documentaries. The European Film Academy voted him the best film composer in 2008. He reinterpreted Antonio Vivaldi’s music in the spirit of minimalism and postmodernism. Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi\, The Four Seasons is one of Richter’s most famous works. After its release in 2012\, the recording topped the iTunes Classical Music charts in over 20 countries. \nMax Richter has recorded 12 solo albums and performed at the London Barbican\, the Paris Philharmonic\, the Sydney Opera and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw\, and among his projects are the Sum Opera and the Infra ballet (choreographed by Wayne MacGregor) at Covent Garden. Richter’s music is heard in many performances around the world\, as well as in the films «Shutter Island» by Martin Scorsese\, «Last Love on Earth» by David Mackenzie\, and «Waltz with Bashir»\, for the soundtrack to which he received the award «Best Composer» from the European Film Academy. \nThe Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi is one of the most famous and frequently performed works of classical music. The Italian master wittily and gracefully captured in music the way his contemporaries saw the world and nature. The Vivaldi cycle is both a philosophical reflection on a magnificent illustrated «calendar» and a «sightseeing tour» of Italy. \nDuration: 60 minutes

SUMMARY:Go with the Flow
DESCRIPTION:Immerse your senses with Yoga Flow Motion’s first live event! Join me for a flowing Yoga Class with a live DJ. \nPeople often tell me my yoga classes feel like dancing. Yet I move away from choreography and towards embodied exploration. Through the continuous\, connected movement I have sequenced\, I invite students into a parasympathetic state where the nervous system can soften\, settle\, and regulate. When we move from this place\, something interesting happens. Bodies often begin to synchronise naturally\, breath deepens\, and a sense of connection emerges. From this state\, you will often be able to do more than you thought possible\, and strength and resilience still develop\, but without competition\, expectation\, or pressure. \nWhat you will experience: \nExpect creative sequencing\, embodied movement\, flow state\, a sense of relaxation without forced stillness\, and a space to focus on nothing but the present moment. I will guide you back into your body in the most natural way possible. \nWho is this class for? \nEveryone is welcome! Some experience of yoga is preferable – perfect for those who enjoy flowy vinyasa classes and/or dance. My classes are queer-positive and body-positive. Over 16s only.
