Local Businesses Wild Drives & Love Campers unveil the first luxury campervan conversion of the VW ID BUZZ

THE UK’S FIRST LUXURY VW ID BUZZ CAMPERVAN

AVAILABLE FOR HIRE

What happens when the Car of the Year meets an innovative, electric campervan hire company?

Wild Drives are one of the first exclusively electric campervan hire companies in the UK. They launched their original eco, electric camper, Eve in 2022. But now there’s more…

They’re now the first company to offer the recently launched, award-winning VW ID Buzz as a luxury, sustainable campervan available to hire from only £150/night!

The conversion of the interior was carried out by artisan van converters, Love Campers. They are based in East Sussex and are well known for their handcrafted, eco-conscious builds.

The campervan features a space-saving slat bed alongside an attractive kitchenette, which includes a clever induction hob, a sink and a fridge. The interior will be made with a modern ply laminate and bamboo for a bright and retro feel. On top of its undeniable good looks, the van offers a powerful lithium battery and a solar panel system on the roof, making the camper functional as a totally off-grid experience without burning fossil fuels.

Wild Drives was started “to protect the beauty of nature for future generations.” And, to provide “customers with a unique and eco-friendly travel experience” says founder Lewis Nyman. The result is one of the most sustainable and nature-friendly travel experiences in the world.

The Volkswagen ID Buzz has been turning heads since its launch.

With a classic profile reminiscent of the classic VW T2 camper, the ID Buzz marries old school charm with modern technology. Not to mention the practicality of a MPV with the comfort of a premium SUV and the low running costs of an electric vehicle.

With a WLTP range of 208 miles and a charging time of 5%-80% in 30 minutes, the ID Buzz is well-suited to long distance adventures.

What Car? named the ID Buzz as Best Large Electric Car of the year… and declared it as their Car of the Year for 2023. It is now available as a unique hireable campervan through Wild Drives.

All Wild Drives’ campers have been built by Love Campers in their environmentally certified workshop. They use sustainable materials and processes. All the wood used is FSC certified, and the campers have natural fibre for insulation.

Each campervan also comes with a litter picker and sustainable bin liners – “we encourage our customers to leave natural sites in a better state than where they found them,” explains Lewis – as well as a compost bin, for food waste, which is collected and composted at the end of the trip.

On the design Lewis comments,

“It’s has a two-toned warm yellow wrapper exterior with a professional high-quality scandi/mid-century interior design. It looks amazing, and I’m really excited to launch it at Fully Charged!

Love Campers Director Clara said,

“The Buzz campervan brings together the best features of vintage VW campers, with modern design and cutting-edge sustainability.  These vans are really special, and we are thrilled to have created something wonderful for Wild Drives and their customers.”

The final build will be unveiled at the Fully Charged show Farnborough on 28th April 2023 and available to rent from the beginning of May.

Bookings to hire the van along with Wild Drives’ other eco-camper, Eve, are available at wilddrives.co.uk
